Constitutional reform - foundation for Kazakhstan’s long-term development

Political transformations in Kazakhstan remain in the spotlight of foreign analysts. Azerbaijani political scientist Rizvan Huseynov considers the introduction of a unicameral Kurultai as one of the key novelties of the draft new Constitution. In his view, this model would make the decision-making process more rapid and flexible. The expert also emphasized the importance of the upcoming referendum, noting that civil society, non-governmental organizations, and local authorities would be able to participate more actively in the legislative process and in overseeing the implementation of laws. According to him, this would increase the level of social and political engagement, including among young people.

«The transformations underway in Kazakhstan are driven not only by domestic political situation and reforms, but also by global processes. Kazakhstan cannot remain isolated from the global agenda or the challenges and threats unfolding around the world. Therefore, I believe the referendum should serve to strengthen the branches of government and make them more adaptable in a rapidly changing worldnoted a political scientist from Azerbaijan Rizvan Huseynov.
