Kazakhstan will develop its Digital Qazaqstan Strategy by
the end of the year. The strategy is expected to launch a new phase of the country’s large-scale digital transformation. Its implementation
will accelerate economic growth through the full-scale integration of AI across
all sectors and boost labor productivity. The strategy will be built around a system of national
«icebreaker» projects, which are
currently being defined. Each project will have its own KPIs and timelines.
«We have held discussions with government bodies, quasi-state organizations, the private sector, associations, experts, the country’s leadership, and various international specialists. Each has submitted its own proposals. We are now collecting and structuring them to avoid duplication and ensure they meet all requirements - primarily our internal ones. Where possible, we aim to consolidate them into broader initiatives for greater coverage. At this stage, we have a substantial pool of proposals and are actively working with it. The key task now is to try to merge them into national projects, which is the work currently underway,» said Digital Government Support Center CEO Bakhtiyar Mukhametkaliyev.
The national «icebreaker» projects will cover
10 key areas: digital public services, healthcare, education and the labor
market, the digital economy, data, cybersecurity, robotics, digital infrastructure,
regulation, and the startup ecosystem.
