A Scholars Forum was held in Astana, bringing together
more than 100 experts and
representatives of national research institutes from various countries. Among
them were over 40 ethnic Kazakhs advancing science in more than 12 states. Participants
discussed areas of cooperation and presented projects in artificial intelligence,
nuclear energy, bio- and nanotechnologies, and medicine. The main goal of this
unique platform is to attract the knowledge, technologies, and potential of
Kazakh scientists working abroad to support the country’s scientific and
innovative development, strengthen partnerships, and showcase Kazakhstan’s
intellectual capacity on the international stage. All proposals voiced during
the forum will be compiled into a separate report and later submitted to
government agencies as recommendations. According to the Otandastar Foundation,
around 500 Kazakh researchers are currently working abroad.
«We have invited more than 40 scientists from 12 countries, with over 160 people participating in the forum. Some, for example, intend to open branches here to work on their projects, while others plan to just come here and work. We are considering these proposals and will do our best to create comfortable conditions for them,» said Otandastar Foundation President Daniyar Kadyrov.
«I have been practicing neurosurgery for 25 years. I want to share my
knowledge and experience. I believe that attracting talented researchers from
abroad is a very important step; we need to collaborate with them and work
together,» shared neurosurgeon from Germany Jadik Senol.
