The network of creative IT centers continues to expand in the North Kazakhstan Region. A new center has opened in the Timiryazev District, becoming the seventh of 13 planned facilities and the first to launch this year. The center was established as part of the Digital Aimaq project and is designed to serve as a practical ecosystem for education, creative industries, and addressing local technological challenges. It is open to school and university students, as well as adults, helping them develop key skills for the digital age. The new hub has already welcomed its first residents with effective projects. One such platform was developed by 11th-grade student Danil Stepanenko. Sabaq integrates online courses, mentors, and project-based activities to support schoolchildren in their studies.
«More than 100 students from across Kazakhstan have already used our app. This IT center will likely help us further develop and finalize the app more quickly. It may also give many other young people the opportunity to realize their potential and create something useful and beneficial for society,» Stepanenko said.
The IT center features several functional areas: an educational zone, where students take their first steps in programming; a co-working space, where they can collaborate on technology development and application projects; and a gaming zone, designed to create a unified digital network connecting all 13 districts of the region. It is worth noting that the North Kazakhstan Region expects the project, which brings IT centers to villages, to be scaled up across Kazakhstan, as it has already become a real example of how digital infrastructure can be developed, including in remote areas.
«This IT center will provide our
district with significant opportunities for digital development and economic
growth. It is equipped with a 3D printer, a variety of scanners,
high-performance computers, and high-speed internet. The center is open to both
young people and older generations,» said
Yerlan
Zharov, Mayor of Timiryazev District, North Kazakhstan Region.
