A new solar power plant has been commissioned in southern Kazakhstan. The 40-megawatt facility is located in the Kyzylorda region and was built with the participation of a Chinese investor. The plant covers around 80 hectares and is equipped with 56,000 bifacial solar panels. Additional equipment with a capacity of another 20 megawatts is planned for installation. The facility supplies electricity to both industrial enterprises and residents of the region.
«We have installed solar panels and transformers that step up the voltage. The generated electricity is transmitted to the RU-6 uranium mining station and then fed directly into the power grid. This ensures electricity for the population and for consumers, including your homes and ours,» said Madi Kyrykbayev, head of the solar power plant.
Other major energy projects are also underway in the
region. For example, a new combined heat and power plant has
recently been built, with an annual capacity of 240 megawatts.
