Kazakhstan has strengthened its position in the Global Cybersecurity Index. The country ranked third in the Tier 2 group of the International Telecommunication Union’s rating, which is based on 83 parameters covering five key areas of cybersecurity. Kazakhstan scored 94 out of a possible 100 points, surpassing Israel, Canada, Russia, Poland, and several other technologically advanced countries. This achievement was made possible thanks to the Cyber Shield-2 program, the integration of more than 220 government databases into a unified AI-powered protection platform, as well as enhanced financial security within the eGov system.
«Tier 1 represents
the most advanced countries. Kazakhstan is currently in Tier 2, where it ranks third - a very strong position. The
next assessment will take place in 2026, and we expect that Kazakhstan has
every chance of moving into Tier 1,» said Kazakh Vice Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development Doszhan Mussaliyev.
