Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov discussed the implementation of major investment projects in Kazakhstan during meetings with company representatives. In particular, Polpharma Santo is set to produce more than 80 items of pharmaceutical ingredients in the country, the base components used in many medicines. The company’s CEO spoke about these plans at the meeting. The project is aimed at strengthening Kazakhstan’s pharmaceutical independence and enhancing the investment attractiveness of the sector. To date, Polpharma Santo’s total investment in the country’s economy exceeds $130 million. Discussions with the management of Alstom Kazakhstan focused on the development of railway engineering and the expansion of export markets for finished products from the electric locomotive assembly plant. The level of production localization has increased from 10% to 35%. The Prime Minister also discussed cooperation with investment companies with the Chairman of the Kazakhstan Council of Foreign Investors Association. Particular attention was paid to the implementation of infrastructure projects of strategic importance for the country, as well as preparations for the upcoming 38th meeting of the Foreign Investors’ Council.
