Kazakh government to draft 12 bills in 2026

In 2026, the Kazakh government will prioritize key areas of lawmaking related to vital aspects of the economy and the social sector. Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov instructed the heads of state bodies to strictly oversee the quality of each draft law and ensure its timely submission to the Mazhilis. He also emphasized the need to strengthen interagency coordination, reduce excessive bureaucracy, and act promptly. The Ministry of Justice has been tasked with monitoring legislative directives from the Head of State, the Presidential Administration, and the government.

«It is necessary to establish clear boundaries for the state’s role in the economy and permissible legal requirements for governance. We will continue to actively improve the regulatory framework to enhance the protection of workers’ rights and strengthen the social security system. Legislative initiatives are also planned to ensure a systematic and comprehensive approach to the development of the petrochemical industry. In total, 12 draft laws are planned for development in the coming year,» Bektenov said.
