Foreign media closely followed the referendum process in Kazakhstan. Around 200 representatives of news agencies from 30 countries covered the voting. Alberto Turkstra, Project Director at Diplomatic World, noted the high level of organization, openness, access to information, and the opportunity for free communication with Kazakh citizens, experts, and international observers. In his view, the transition to a unicameral Parliament will help accelerate the legislative process.
«Now you have an economic model which is based on
science, innovation, and tremendous human capital of the country, and this
Constitution provides the legal form, framework to capitalize on your
competitive advantages. In fact, our countries can perhaps learn some lessons
from you as well, in terms of organization, in terms of logistics, and the
whole preparation. I think it was done at the world standards,» said Alberto Turkstra, Project Director at Diplomatic
World, Belgium.
