The President of Kazakhstan received a high-level welcome in Tokyo. According to Japanese media, on the same day, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Emperor Naruhito and Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi – a gesture widely regarded as a mark of deep respect. Journalists also highlighted that Kazakhstan is a key partner of Japan in Central Asia. The two countries actively cooperate in economic and technological spheres, with a shared focus on sustainable development. The official visit of the Kazakh President to Tokyo was closely followed across Japan.
«From Japanese media, I learned about the agreements
that were signed, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s meeting with Kazakh youth
living there, and his visit to a local temple. All of these events have
received extensive coverage by local journalists. I believe that after this
visit, people in Japan will learn more about Kazakhstan and develop a greater
interest in the country,» said
Professor Ninomiya Takashi of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Al-Farabi
Kazakh National University.
