The draft new Constitution is shaping an environment of trust and long-term partnership between the state and business, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov stated at a meeting on entrepreneurship development. Representatives of key sectors of the economy and the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs took part in the meeting. Bektenov emphasized that business development is one of the priorities outlined by the President and serves as a key partner in implementing economic reforms. He also noted that the open discussion of the constitutional reform and the proposals submitted by citizens reflect the development of democratic processes.
«We are meeting at a historically important
time for the country. For the past six
months, society has been actively discussing the constitutional reform. All
discussions are being conducted
openly. Thousands of proposals have been submitted by our citizens, and each of
them is being carefully reviewed and taken into account. This is clear evidence
of the development of democratic processes in our country. The draft new Constitution has been
presented to the people, with the main goal of strengthening Kazakhstan’s independence and ensuring its sustainable
development. I call on the business community to support our President and the
new Constitution. Thousands of citizens work under your leadership, and it is
important to convey the objectives of the reform to each of them,» Bektenov said.
The meeting also focused on tax reform and support for
entrepreneurs. In 2025, more than 3,000 SME projects were subsidized under
existing programs, totaling 365 billion tenge. Participants also discussed
digitalization and the launch of the registry of domestic manufacturers. To
date, more than 5,500 companies have been authorized in the system. Business
representatives put forward proposals on improving tax administration and state
support mechanisms.
«For us, the value foundation of the Constitution is
important, with a focus on a Just Kazakhstan and the principle of Law and Order
as the main stable axis for the development of society as a whole. This is
precisely what characterizes our state at this stage as mature and stable - not
the formative stage we have already passed, but a mature and stable position of
the state, where all interests are aimed at ensuring steady economic
development and the protection of citizens’ rights under the law,» noted Gulnar Bizhanova, Deputy Chair of the Atameken
National Chamber of Entrepreneurs.
Tomorrow, February 10, an expanded government meeting chaired by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will take place. The meeting is expected to summarize the country’s socio-economic development results for 2025 and outline the Government’s main priorities for the upcoming period.
