The implementation of agreements reached within the C5+1 format between the Central Asian countries and the U.S. was discussed during a meeting of the Investment Climate Improvement Council chaired by Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov. Representatives of the diplomatic corps, international companies, and government agencies took part in the Council’s work. Bektenov emphasized that Kazakhstan is going through an important political stage ahead of the nationwide referendum on the draft new Constitution. The fundamental document reflects large-scale political reforms initiated by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. It was also noted that the Head of State participated in the inaugural Board of Peace meeting in Washington, D.C., where Kazakhstan expressed support for U.S. initiatives aimed at stabilizing the situation in the Middle East and confirmed its interest in taking part in the reconstruction efforts in Gaza. Overall, according to the Prime Minister, the sustainable development of relations with the U.S. remains one of the key areas of Kazakhstan’s foreign policy. Special attention was given to expanding cooperation with American investors, attracting advanced technologies, and fostering a transparent business environment.
«Our key priority is to raise citizens’ incomes and improve quality of life by ensuring sustainable economic growth. To achieve this objective, we are implementing a comprehensive set of measures aimed at the full-scale launch of a new investment cycle. Expanding cooperation with foreign investors is a key priority as they bring long-term capital, cutting-edge technologies, and global best practices,» Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov noted.
«So I look forward to us expanding our bilateral relationship, which is
excellent and the best it’s ever been. Our commercial cooperation, as many of you know, reached the highest levels
ever in 2025. In the fourth quarter alone, we had $17 billion of deals between
U.S. companies and Kazakhstan. That is incredible,» said Julie Stufft, U.S. Ambassador to Kazakhstan.
