The draft new
Constitution became the central topic of dialogue in the Abai region. State
Counsellor Erlan Karin and members of the National Coalition met with the
public of the region. About 500 people gathered at the Abai Regional Library. Erlan
Karin spoke in detail about the principles behind the drafting of the document.
He emphasized that the work was carried out openly and with broad public
participation, and that citizens’ proposals were submitted through the digital
platforms e-Otinish and eGov. According to him, the new Basic Law is viewed not
only as a legal document but also as a modern social contract, reflecting
society’s value priorities and enshrining a human-centered approach to state
policy.
«The new Constitution ensures that people of all social or professional statuses and of all ages can see their interests taken into account. What does this mean? It means that every citizen has received credible constitutional guarantees protecting their rights. According to the new Constitution, all citizens, regardless of age, social status, or other circumstances, are entitled to work and rest, the right to education and healthcare, freedom of speech and peaceful assembly, protection of personal data, and a favorable environment,» noted Kazakh State Counsellor Erlan Karin.
The State
Counsellor also held a meeting with creative intellectuals of the Abai region.
The discussion focused on issues related to the development of culture, the
preservation of historical memory, and the strengthening of national identity.
Participants expressed support for including the preservation of historical and
cultural heritage and the promotion of national culture in the list of
principles guiding state activity. Members of the National Coalition held
meetings with youth, public activists, and representatives of various sectors
of the region, where they discussed the key provisions of the draft new Constitution
and its significance for the country’s further development.
