The referendum in Kazakhstan has been recognized as valid. According to the Central Referendum Commission, voter turnout by 2:00 P.M. reached nearly 52% of registered voters. A total of 6,471,378 citizens received ballots. More than 12 million voters are registered nationwide, with over 10,000 polling stations open across the country.
«In
accordance with Paragraph 2 of Article 31 of the Constitutional Law
of Kazakhstan «On the Nationwide Referendum», a referendum is considered valid
if more than half of eligible voters take part,» said
Shavkat Utemissov, Secretary of the
Kazakh Central Referendum Commission.
