Referendum - historic milestone in Kazakhstan’s development

The key provisions of the draft new Constitution were discussed by Senate Chairman Maulen Ashimbayev at a meeting with members of the maslikhats, farmers, representatives of ethnocultural associations, and young people of the Zhetisu region. He noted that the constitutional reform has strategic and historic significance and is aimed at strengthening democratic principles and comprehensively modernizing the political system. According to Ashimbayev, the draft Constitution identifies human capital, the strengthening of statehood, independence and sovereignty, as well as the preservation of domestic political stability and public harmony as the key priorities for further development. The proposed amendments contribute to the formation of an effective model of public administration and to ensuring the consistent transformation of government institutions.
