New transport projects to boost Kazakhstan’s logistics potential

Major repairs have been completed on the access road to the Sauran settlement in southern Kazakhstan. The site is located near the exit from the Western Europe–Western China corridor leading to the medieval archaeological complex. Previously, access to the site required a detour of approximately 30 kilometers; the new road has reduced the distance to just two kilometers. During construction, the old road surface was fully dismantled and replaced with a new pavement. Culverts were installed, and road signs and lighting were added. The project not only improves the road infrastructure but also enhances the region’s investment and logistics appeal.

«As part of quality control, 55 samples of road construction materials were tested. We closely monitored the process. The small number of materials that failed to meet the requirements were fully replaced and repaired by the contractor in accordance with established procedures,» said Nurzhan Ashirmat, engineer at the National Center for the Quality of Road Assets in the Turkistan region.
