Active discussions on the draft new Constitution are underway across Kazakhstan’s regions. A youth forum dedicated to its key provisions was held at Aktobe Regional University, where students engaged in open discussions, exchanging views and raising questions. According to speakers, updating the country’s Basic Law, including provisions for the development of digital technologies, is a strategic response to modern realities. Special attention is being given to the protection of citizens’ rights, combating bullying, improving legal awareness among young people, and expanding their participation in the country’s social and political life.
«The Constitution is the foundation of stability,
economic development, and social justice. This is what we strive to convey to young
people. The forum invited not only prominent figures, but also Kazakh citizens
with an active civic stance. They shared their professional experience,
emphasizing the importance of young people’s active participation in the
country’s modernization processes,» noted Narkozy
Kartzhan, Vice Rector of the Aktobe Regional University.
Meanwhile, members of the National Coalition visited the Zhambyl region, where they met with railway workers, forestry employees, and veterans. During the meetings, participants were given detailed explanations of provisions of the draft new Constitution and had their questions answered. It was noted that updating the country’s Basic Law envisages the modernization of the political system in line with contemporary public demands. According to meeting participants, this will help ensure a balanced functioning of the branches of government and create a solid foundation for long-term economic development. Coalition members emphasized that peace and stability remain core values of the Kazakh society, and that open dialogue with citizens is an integral part of the ongoing reforms.
«Scholars, legal experts, and public figures who have
contributed to the country’s development, as well as many deputies, took part
in drafting the new Constitution. As a result, a fundamentally revised Basic
Law was prepared, and its draft has been submitted for public consideration,» said Zhiguli Dairabayev, a member of the Mazhilis and National Coalition.
