The
outcomes of the CSTO’s key areas of work this year and its
priorities for the upcoming period were outlined at the Collective Security
Council session in Bishkek. President Kassym-Jomart
Tokayev took part in it alongside the leaders of the Kyrgyz Republic, Russia, Belarus, and Tajikistan. The
Heads of State exchanged
views on current challenges to regional and international security. The
participants also approved the appointment of Kyrgyz
representative Taalatbek Masadykov as the CSTO Secretary General, beginning next year. Following the session, the Collective Security Council
Declaration was adopted, and a number of documents were signed aimed at further
improving the collective security system for the benefit of all CSTO member
states.
