Kazakhstan’s Security Council discusses energy resilience

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev chaired a meeting of the Security Council focusing on the resilience of the national energy system. Reports were delivered by the Ministers of Energy and Water Resources and Irrigation, as well as heads of relevant government agencies. The President emphasized that energy security today directly affects the country’s independence and economic stability. Overall, Kazakhstan currently has sufficient resources to meet its electricity needs; however, amid growing demand, capacity should be used rationally and efficiently. The Head of State highlighted the importance of developing flexible generation, actively utilizing the potential of hydropower, and introducing water-saving technologies, especially in the agricultural sector and industry. The President issued specific instructions to the government and regional governors.
