Kazakhstan stands at the threshold of significant reforms aimed at advancing the country’s steady development, Senate Chairman Maulen Ashimbayev said at a meeting of the Upper House Bureau. He emphasized that the new Constitution was drafted based on proposals from citizens, public institutions, and political parties. According to Ashimbayev, the new Fundamental Law lays the foundation for Kazakhstan’s long-term prosperity.
«At the initiative of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev,
large-scale reforms are underway as part of a modernization strategy aimed at
implementing the concept of a Strong President – Influential Parliament –
Accountable Government. These reforms are expected to strengthen the
effectiveness, openness, and functionality of the country’s entire political
system. In this context, the text of a fundamentally new Constitution has been
prepared and published. The new Constitution was drafted based on proposals from
citizens, public institutions, political parties, and legal experts, with
substantive discussions held openly and transparently at commission meetings,» Ashimbayev said.
