A Kazakh delegation led by Yerlan Koshanov, the Speaker of the Mazhilis, a lower house of Parliament, visited Morocco. He discussed expanding bilateral cooperation, including interparliamentary ties, with the speakers of the two chambers of Parliament, Rachid Talbi El Alami and Mohamed Ould Errachid, as well as Head of the Government Aziz Akhannouch. Koshanov encouraged Moroccan colleagues to intensify the exchange of legislative experience and briefed them on Kazakhstan’s political reforms. The sides also focused on strengthening trade, developing the Middle Corridor, implementing artificial intelligence, and collaborating in agriculture, logistics, education, and tourism. To support deeper ties, the countries are considering the launch of direct flights, and a visa-free regime has been in effect since this year. Participants noted that high-level visits strengthen trust between Kazakhstan and Morocco and open new opportunities for joint projects.
«Kazakh President
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev places great importance on strengthening comprehensive
cooperation with Morocco. Interaction between the parliaments of the two
countries is particularly important. We are interested in strengthening
interparliamentary cooperation. We see the same commitment from the Moroccan
side. As elected representatives, we must bring our peoples closer together. Parliamentary
friendship groups play a significant role in this,» said
Mazhilis Chairman Yerlan Koshanov.
