Expert: Constitutional reform in Kazakhstan boosts investor trust

The enshrinement of key changes regarding special economic and industrial zones in the Basic Law is intended to strengthen investor confidence and stimulate economic growth. This was stated by Chief Advisor on the design and construction of Alatau City, Wong Heang Fine. According to him, amid intense global competition for investment, Kazakhstan’s new draft Constitution could provide businesses with transparency and long-term stability. Wong Heang Fine also noted that most investors view these changes positively.

«By protecting the special economic regimes in the Constitution will make a lot of things be more certain. Investors like certainty, because investments are long-term. By enshrining the special economic zones into the Constitution will ensure the certain level of transparency, as well as the certain level of certainty,» noted Wong Heang Fine, Chief Advisor on Design and Construction of Alatau City.
