Constitutional reform - key stage in political modernization

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev outlined a new constitutional model of a Just Kazakhstan and a new architecture of statehood at the National Kurultai in Kyzylorda. This was stated by Senate Chairman Maulen Ashimbayev at a chamber meeting. According to him, the effective implementation and legislative support of the reforms require, above all, a comprehensive approach. Equally important is systematic and constructive interaction among all parties, including for the timely adoption of the necessary laws. Senate members will continue their work on providing legislative support for all initiatives of the Head of State, the Senate Speaker emphasized.

«The Head of State outlined his position regarding the name, structure, and powers of the future Parliament, as well as proposals for the development of socio-political and state institutions. These include new institutions such as the People’s Council and the position of Vice President. Thus, a new constitutional model of a Just Kazakhstan was defined at the National Kurultai,» Ashimbayev noted.
