The dialogue between Kazakhstan and Japan has long gone beyond the framework of bilateral relations. Japan and Kazakhstan were the first to propose the introduction of the C5+1 format for Central Asia back in 2004. Today, there are already eleven such formats. Political analysts believe that the first «Central Asia plus Japan» meeting held at the level of the leaders of the Central Asian five is a historic event. The summit will help strengthen economic and industrial ties in the region and create new trade routes. It is also expected to promote the development of tourism and cultural exchange.
«Kazakhstan,
as well as Central Asian countries in general, has become highly relevant to
the global community primarily in economic terms. Why? Because today our very
important neighbor, China, is developing overland trade routes that link the
Far East, China, Japan, South Korea,
and Southeast Asia with Europe and the American market. Our country plays a key geopolitical role in many international relations,» said Assyl
Tuleubekov, Associate Professor at MNU.
