Silk Way Star winner from Mongolia receives Order of Polar Star

The winner of the Silk Way Star international contest, Michelle Joseph, has received one of Mongolia’s highest state awards. The Order of the Polar Star (Altan Gadas Odon) was personally presented to her by the President of the country during a ceremony marking the 114th anniversary of National Freedom and the Restoration of Independence of Mongolia. Michelle’s artistry is truly unique. She skillfully combines traditional songs with elements of pop, R&B, and funk. The award recognizes Michelle’s contribution to Mongolian culture and arts and serves as confirmation that Silk Way Star is a platform where stars of global significance are born.

«While presenting the order, the President told me, ‘Shine like the Altan Gadas star.’ It is truly an incredible feeling. I am glad that it was not just my name but the name of my country that was heard on the international stage. This award has inspired me to create and achieve even more,» shared Michelle Joseph.

The Silk Way Star contest lasted three months, bringing together performers from 12 countries on one stage, including China, Georgia, the Kyrgyz Republic, Malaysia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and others. Seven performers made it to the grand finale, and the victory was claimed by Mongolian singer Michelle Joseph. All ten episodes of the contest were broadcast on our TV channel. The grand finale, aired live, was watched not only by viewers in Kazakhstan but also by audiences in Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, the Kyrgyz Republic, and other countries.
