Senate Speaker signs condolence book at Iranian Embassy

Senate Chairman Maulen Ashimbayev, on behalf of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, visited the Iranian Embassy in Kazakhstan. During a meeting with the head of the diplomatic mission, Ali Akbar Jokar, the Speaker signed a condolence book following the tragic events that claimed the lives of Supreme Spiritual Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, senior government officials, and civilians, including children. He wrote: «On behalf of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev, the people of Kazakhstan, and the Parliament, we express our deepest condolences to the Iranian people, as well as to the families and loved ones of the victims». The message also noted that the Head of State consistently emphasizes the need to resolve international disputes and conflicts exclusively through political and diplomatic means, while respecting international law and the UN Charter. During the conversation, Ashimbayev stressed that Iran is a close neighbor and partner of Kazakhstan and reaffirmed the country’s readiness to facilitate a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
