Senate Chairman Maulen Ashimbayev spoke about
Kazakhstan's experience in promoting the values of peace and interfaith
dialogue at the annual Zayed Award for Human Fraternity ceremony in Abu Dhabi.
The event emphasized the significance of the Kazakh President’s call for a new global peace movement, as well as the work of the Congress
of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
«Last September, we held the 8th Congress in Astana under the theme Dialogue of Religions: Synergy for the Future. The Congress addressed some of the most pressing challenges of our time, including climate change, artificial intelligence, social justice, and sustainable development. Spiritual leaders adopted the Astana Peace Declaration 2025, which includes a number of international initiatives aimed at further strengthening interfaith dialogue,» said Ashimbayev, who is also the head of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
In recognition of their contribution to peace, Azerbaijan
and Armenia were awarded the prestigious international Zayed Award for Human Fraternity. The main
stage of negotiations between the two countries took place in Almaty.
