Pharmaceutical production is set to expand in Shymkent through nearly 40 billion tenge in private investment. The corresponding resolution was signed by Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov. The funds will be allocated for the construction of a manufacturing facility which is set to produce 38 types of medicines for the treatment of oncological and cardiovascular diseases. The project aims to strengthen the domestic pharmaceutical market. The launch of the first stage of production is scheduled for the end of 2029.
«Overall, six investment agreements worth
316.3 billion tenge have been concluded in the pharmaceutical manufacturing
sector. This reflects the industry’s steady growth, rising investment appeal,
the creation of a solid foundation
for production localization, and the strengthening of the country’s
pharmaceutical security,» said Aslan Kinayatov, head of the pharmaceutical
and medical industry development department at the Kazakh Health Ministry.
