National Coalition meets Shymkent residents

Regional visits by members of the National Coalition are continuing. A delegation led by Chairman of the Mazhilis Yerlan Koshanov held a series of meetings with residents of Shymkent. Scientists, labor collectives, and representatives of the cultural community were briefed on the key provisions of the draft Basic Law. It was noted that the new version of the Constitution places the individual – their work, knowledge, and safety – at the center. According to the Mazhilis Speaker, the core values of the draft Constitution lie in its focus on citizens’ well-being and the country’s sustainable development.

«Ahead of us lie large-scale and truly momentous tasks. But we will be able to reach new heights only when justice prevails in society. We will achieve our goals only when law and order are strictly upheld. We will become an advanced country when our youth fully master knowledge, science, innovation, and cutting-edge technologies. Along this path, we will draw on our millennia-long history and unique culture. All these values are clearly and explicitly reflected in the new Constitution,» noted Yerlan Koshanov, Chairman of the Mazhilis, the Lower House of the Kazakh Parliament.

«Amid an unstable geopolitical environment, the level of global unity and security is declining. In such a situation, each state seeks to strengthen its domestic policy and reinforce its institutions. The constitutional reform proposed by the Head of State is not only a requirement of the times, but also a strategic necessity,» said Ardak Montayev, Head of the Political Science Department, Auezov University.
