The country’s socio-political forces have united in the National Coalition «For the People’s Constitution of a Just and Progressive Kazakhstan». Representatives of political parties, public organizations, trade unions, and experts note that the new draft of the country’s Basic Law is aimed at further modernizing the political system. Members of the Coalition intend to carry out public outreach efforts in the regions ahead of the referendum. At a meeting in Almaty with coalition members, Deputy Prime Minister Aida Balayeva stated that the initiatives of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, based on the principles of Justice, Law, and Order, mark a new stage in the country’s development. In discussions with creative intellectuals, she spoke in detail about large-scale political reforms as well as the significance of the draft new Constitution. With the scientific community, the Deputy Prime Minister discussed the importance of the draft of the new Basic Law and its role in shaping an intellectual nation. Among the priorities is the protection of citizens’ rights, particularly in the digital environment.
Meanwhile, in the Turkistan region, the coalition has emphasized direct dialogue with residents. Nearly 2,000 meetings are planned
across the region, where the proposed amendments will be explained and
citizens’ questions addressed. Moreover, an additional 18 coalitions have been established
within party branches to coordinate the work.
«While conducting public outreach, the coalition will also receive and take into account citizens’ proposals. This is its distinctive feature: representatives of various social groups are given the opportunity to express their views. It is precisely this openness and closeness to the people that constitute the coalition’s key distinguishing characteristic,» noted Kalyima Zhantoreyeva, Deputy Executive Secretary of the Turkistan regional branch of Amanat party.
In Shymkent, the city coalition plans to hold meetings
and discussions both offline and online. This is intended to ensure that as
many residents of the metropolis as possible can receive information and
express their views.
The draft new Constitution was also discussed by members of the coalition in the Karagandy region. They noted that the document places special emphasis on strengthening the role of the individual, as well as on developing education, science, and innovation as key drivers of future progress. Participants intend to hold more than 800 events aimed at broadly informing the public. Notably, similar coalitions have also been established in Kyzylorda, Pavlodar, Kostanai, and other regions of Kazakhstan.
