Kazakhstan’s IT exports reach $1 billion

Kazakhstan’s IT export volume reached $1 billion. Last year, more than 100 Kazakh startups entered foreign markets. The Astana Hub ecosystem plays a major role in promoting and supporting these projects. Over seven years, it has attracted more than $840 million in investment. Today, around 2,000 IT companies are represented on this platform. The innovation cluster provides specialists from the EAEU and Central Asia with the opportunity to collaborate with Google, Draper University in Silicon Valley, and the global accelerator AlchemistX.

«We have more than 10 different acceleration programs across various areas. There are flagship programs, such as the Silkway Accelerator, run jointly with Google for Startups, as well as targeted programs in various fields. For example, there is an AI program called Aipreneurs, a Smart City program focused on urban solutions, and programs in Industry 4.0, where we pilot digital solutions with major subsoil user companies. In total, more than 150 projects pass through Astana Hub annually,» said Astana Hub Managing Director Jambul Makhmetov.

Residents of the technology park are actively engaged in the research and development of AI agents. The demand for such AI assistants is growing rapidly across various industries, including from leading international companies. For example, the startup platform by Beksultan Aukenov has attracted attention. It features digital assistants for legal, financial, accounting, and tax systems.

«We are currently working with more than 10 companies. Thanks to the accelerator, we have secured a full-scale contract and are now finalizing an agreement with Kashagan B.V., along with two pilot agreements. One of our largest clients is the UK-based company Galvani Bioelectronics, a pharmaceutical company and joint venture between GSK and Google. Clients benefit from this because many of our AI agents simplify and accelerate staff workflows while ensuring a high level of security. We help companies implement these systems locally and increase overall employee productivity by 40 to 70% noted IT developer Beksultan Aukenov.
