Up to 30,000 people from Kazakhstan and China visit the Khorgos International Center for Border Cooperation each day, a figure that continues to grow, according to Chinese Ambassador to Kazakhstan Han Chunlin. The Chinese Embassy hosted an event dedicated to the Spring Festival. Visa-free travel, along with the designation of 2024 and 2025 as the Years of Tourism of Kazakhstan in China and China in Kazakhstan, have strengthened cooperation between the two countries. Most importantly, regular high-level meetings are boosting cooperation. Last year, Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Astana to participate in the Central Asia-China Summit. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev addressed the SCO+ Summit in China. Bilateral trade further reflects the growing partnership. Last year, it reached $49 billion, while domestic exports grew by 20%.
