Kazakhstan builds Data Center Valley

Up to $30 billion in investment is planned for the implementation of the Data Center Valley project. Negotiations are currently underway with major international companies. The ecosystem will be developed using the capacities of the Ekibastuz energy hub. The Prime Minister emphasized the strategic importance of the project and instructed that the necessary conditions and infrastructure be provided to accelerate its implementation. The special zone will accommodate computing infrastructure, cloud services, and AI capacities. The project also includes the construction of 15 km of power transmission lines and step-down substation infrastructure with a capacity of 300 MW, with potential expansion to 1 GW.

«The project is expected to be operated by the national company Kazakhtelecom. Together with the governor’s office of the Pavlodar region, Kazakhtelecom will develop all the necessary infrastructure for the site. Currently, 200 hectares of land have been allocated, with plans to expand to 1,300 hectares. As part of the project, a major international company specializing in data center operations is expected to enter the Kazakh marketsaid Gizzat Baitursynov, Chairman of the Digital Assets and Breakthrough Technologies Committee at the Kazakh Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development.
