President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Almaty Mayor Darkhan Satybaldy who presented new strategic initiatives aimed at the city’s polycentric
development. The concept provides for the creation of modern IT infrastructure,
multifunctional business complexes, as well as leisure spaces and well-designed
recreational areas. In addition, a modern transport framework for the
metropolis is being developed. The Head of State was also briefed on the Almaty
mountain cluster project. At the conclusion
of the meeting, the President issued instructions to
further diversify the city’s economy and improve the urban
environment and the quality of life for residents.
