Kazakh President begins working visit to Washington, D.C.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev arrived in Washington, D.C., on a working visit. The Head of State met with citizens of Kazakhstan living and studying in the U.S. During the conversation, the President noted that he places great hopes on the younger generation and emphasized that the government pays special attention to youth development and creating conditions for their self-realization. The President also reminded about the upcoming nationwide referendum on the draft new Constitution of Kazakhstan, which will be held in March. He highlighted its historic significance for the country’s future. In turn, students and young researchers expressed their gratitude to the Head of State for his comprehensive support of science and education. Notably, the Kazakh President will participate in the inaugural Board of Peace meeting and hold a series of meetings with foreign leaders as well as U.S. officials.
