The Kazakh Oyu-Ornek has been included on the ICESCO’s List of the Islamic World Heritage. The decision was made at the 13th
session of the International Organization’s Committee. State Counselor Erlan Karin
announced the news on social media, noting: «Oyu-Ornek is a key ethnocultural code that strengthens Kazakh cultural identity
and historical continuity. Its inclusion on this prestigious list is an important step in promoting
Kazakhstan’s intangible cultural
heritage internationally. In line with the President’s instructions, work to include Kazakhstan’s cultural sites on the UNESCO and ICESCO lists will
