The musical journey From West to East took place on the stage of the Kazakh capital’s main concert hall. The evening of world classical music featured performances by the Kazakh State Symphony Orchestra. The program included Beethoven’s Coriolan Overture and Symphony No. 5, as well as one of Dmitri Shostakovich’s landmark works - Violin Concerto No. 1, performed by a bright representative of Kazakhstan’s young generation of violinists and laureate of numerous international competitions, Diana Makazhan.
«This concerto is incredibly challenging - for the ensemble, the orchestra, and my solo part. At the same time, it encompasses the full spectrum of emotions. That’s why it’s my favorite concerto, and performing it is a true pleasure,» said Diana Makazhan, violinist and artist of the Kazakh State Symphony Orchestra.
Taking the conductor’s podium was renowned Turkish maestro Hakan Şensoy. The distinguished guest spoke highly of his collaboration with Kazakh musicians, emphasizing that he remains open to further creative projects together.
«My last impression in Kazakhstan is my most excited and
beautiful impression in my life. I hope I will be here again to perform, to
conduct for concert. And that time I promise you I will conduct a piece by
Kazakh composer. As for folk music, I know it very well and I love
it, of course,» shared Hakan Şensoy.
