The first
participant of the Asian vocal contest Silk Way Star, popular Chinese musician
Zhang He Xuan, has arrived in Astana. Well known in China for his original
compositions and national songs, the artist has also prepared a Kazakh song for
his performance in Astana. Silk Way Star, the first Asian vocal contest, will bring together
participants from 12 countries. Filming of the project
begins on Wednesday.
«This is my first time in Kazakhstan. I plan to find time to get acquainted with the sights of Astana and the
local landscape. For me, this competition is not only a rivalry, it is an
opportunity to introduce the public to our Chinese culture. I will perform a
song in Kazakh, I really want to win the hearts of Kazakh viewers,» said Zhang He Xuan, Silk Way Star contestant from China.
