Nearly 80% of Kazakh
citizens support the
constitutional reform initiated by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the
National Kurultai in Kyzylorda. These findings were published by the Public
Opinion Research Institute. The survey showed that Kazakh citizens are
actively following the country’s socio-political agenda, with respondents
naming the National Kurultai as the most notable event of January. Among the
most significant proposed changes, respondents most frequently highlighted the
transition to a unicameral Parliament, the establishment of the post of Vice President, and the creation of the Khalyk Kenesi (People’s Council). At the same time, 65% of respondents are
confident that the constitutional reform will have a positive impact on their
lives and standard of living. Citizens expect the new Parliament to work
effectively and to engage in active dialogue with society. Overall, the study
indicates that Kazakh
citizens are interested in the
reforms and are counting on changes that will improve their quality of life.
