10,000 proposals submitted on draft of Kazakhstan’s new Constitution

Around 10,000 proposals have been submitted to the Constitutional Commission on the draft of the new Basic Law. They came from commission members, experts, civil society representatives, and business entities. At its 12th meeting, the commission noted that the new version of the Constitution had undergone extensive discussion, attracting strong public interest and active citizen participation.

«The texts of the draft Constitution have been thoroughly refined in both the state and Russian languages. Terminological and semantic consistency has been ensured. The wording of the legal provisions is accessible, and their content is clear to a broad audience. I would especially like to highlight the extensive work carried out by the working groups of legal experts and linguists,» said Bakyt Nurmukhanov, Deputy Chair of the Constitutional Court of Kazakhstan and member of the Constitutional Commission.
