Nauryz was also celebrated on a grand scale in Turkmenistan. In the foothills, an entire oriental-style town was built for the spring holiday, with white yurts spread across the landscape.

Skilled artisans showcased their craftsmanship and displayed their creations. Across the area, large cauldrons were set up to prepare the main festive dish, semeni. This sweet porridge made from sprouted wheat is cooked overnight as a symbol of a bountiful harvest in the coming year. Residents and visitors also enjoyed a vibrant concert, watched traditional wrestling matches featuring pahlavans, and rode on festive swings.

«I would like to emphasize that a truly festive and friendly atmosphere has been created. This celebration is aimed at strengthening peace and fostering friendship, cooperation, and constructive engagement between countries,» said Uzbek Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ravshanbek Alimov.

«I arrived in Turkmenistan from Greece, and it’s a great pleasure to be here. I am truly impressed by the Nowruz celebrations. We have been deeply touched by the hospitality of the Turkmen people and sincerely wish the country prosperity and well-being,» said Greek tourist Yana Angelopoulou.
