The winners of Social Startup 2025, a program designed to support new projects in the social sphere, have been announced in Kazakhstan. Over the course of two months, 153 startup teams that applied for participation developed their initiatives with the guidance of experienced experts. NU Impact Foundation provided grants of up to 10 million tenge for project implementation. Following the competition, 10 top initiatives were selected based on four criteria, including innovation, scientific foundation, social benefit, and economic viability. Among the winners are a medical startup offering an online rehabilitation platform for patients, an AR application featuring a virtual speech therapist for children, and an AI agent builder that helps small businesses automate their processes.
«Large corporations have millions, even billions, of dollars to invest in AI, while small and medium-sized enterprises simply don’t have such resources. Thus, we created our platform, enabling completely non-technical users such as entrepreneurs, integrators, and freelancers to independently build their own AI agents and integrate them into business processes with the same level of accuracy as big corporations. This program allowed us to focus on attracting investment. In addition to the grant funding we received here, we are now raising $500,000 at a $5 million valuation for our company,» said startup founder Askhat Adkhamov.
«Usually, social projects that receive grants end their work once it is complete. However, Social Startup is designed not only to further develop and generate social benefit. These projects can earn revenue and stay stable on their own, bringing even more social benefits,» noted NU Impact Foundation Chairman Sayat Nyussupov.
