AI solutions from domestic IT developers are set to be implemented at industrial enterprises across Kazakhstan. More than 20 major companies in the mining and metallurgical complex, as well as in machine-building, construction, transport, and logistics sectors, plan to integrate digital technologies into their production processes. IT companies addressed these requests as part of the Industrial AI Acceleration initiative. The program brought together over 100 startups, with 33 innovative projects selected.
«Agreements have already been reached to pilot seven projects, with over 15 other companies currently discussing the specific format for their pilots. This represents a significant step forward in fostering collaboration between enterprises gaining access to advanced AI solutions. The goal is to test these solutions at the pilot stage and eventually scale them across entire enterprises,» said Anarbek Utegulov, Director of the Industry 4.0 Office at Astana Hub.
As part of the program, companies submitted 140 tasks to participants, aimed at improving production processes. Teams worked on these requests, stored in a dedicated database, to develop AI solutions. The most successful projects received support for scaling, attracting investment, and ongoing expert guidance. For example, the IDM-ONLINE team tested its monitoring system at 30 industrial sites and is now negotiating potential partnerships.
“Just as a doctor records an electrocardiogram, examines
it, and makes a diagnosis, we measure vibrations, and our mathematical model
can identify various malfunctions from them. AI then evaluates the severity of
the issue and provides recommendations. Implementing our system helps reduce
downtime—especially unplanned downtime—thereby increasing productivity. In
fact, we estimate that an enterprise could increase its net profit by up to 4%
through the adoption of our system,” said Musa Smanov, Director of IDM-ONLINE.
