The new Constitution forms a solid foundation for unlocking the potential of young people, as noted by Senate Chairman Maulen Ashimbayev at a meeting with students of Gumilyov Eurasian National University. The discussion focused on the key provisions of the updated Basic Law, the role of youth in implementing them, and the significance of these provisions for the country’s further development. Ashimbayev noted that holding the referendum will mark the beginning of a new historical stage - from strengthening the party system to enhancing the role of maslikhats and expanding institutions of civic dialogue. The implementation of the planned changes will largely depend on young people’s engagement, their knowledge and willingness to participate in the transformation process.
«The draft new Constitution serves as a manifesto for the country’s future, logically continuing President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s course of systemic political modernization. First and foremost, the draft Basic Law establishes a long-term framework for the state’s development, grounded in the principles of public consensus and national unity. Particular emphasis is placed on strengthening national identity and the status of the state language,» said Maulen Ashimbayev, Chairman of the Senate, the Upper House of the Kazakh Parliament.
