Mazhilis reviews 2025 legislative work

An e-Sport platform will be launched in Kazakhstan to streamline industry management and information exchange with other portals. The Mazhilis, the lower house of Parliament, has adopted these and other amendments to the law on support for the tourism industry and children’s sports. The amendments introduce per capita funding for children’s and youth sports schools, calculated on a per-athlete basis, and higher salaries for specialists. Coaches who train in accordance with national sports standards will also receive additional payments.

«Per-capita normative funding for children’s and youth sports schools is being introduced, along with a corresponding digital platform. This will make it possible to nearly double spending per athlete and increase coaches’ salaries. The e-Sport platform is set to provide management and accounting functions, sector-wide analytics, and data exchange with other systems said Mazhilis Member Nikita Shatalov.

The Mazhilis agreed with the Senate’s amendments to several legislative acts, including the Construction Code, the law on banks and banking activities, and legislation regulating digitalization, transport, and entrepreneurship. The amendments are clarifying in nature and do not change the concepts of the documents adopted by the Mazhilis. Speaker of the house Yerlan Koshanov also summarized the deputies’ legislative work over the past year.

«We managed to implement all the directives of the Head of State on time. The adopted laws will create conditions for our country’s further development and contribute to improving the well-being of the population. A number of provisions were implemented through legislative initiatives by members of Parliament. These documents ensure a balance between public and state interests and create conditions for business development. Next year, we must maintain the established pace noted Mazhilis Chairman Yerlan Koshanov.
