The Days of Kyrgyz Cinema were held in Astana. The event opened with the premiere of Black, Red, Yellow, directed by Aktan Arym Kubat. Through its main character, the film explores not only the unique craft of carpet weaving, but also themes of different destinies, choice, and love. On the second day, the program continued with the drama Kachkyn. The films, winners of international film festivals, attracted strong interest from Kazakh audiences. They also formed part of a cultural program aimed at fostering humanitarian ties between Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic.
«Recently, cultural and spiritual interaction between the Kyrgyz Republic and Kazakhstan has been gaining momentum. These exchanges have become increasingly active, clearly reflecting our unity, shared spiritual roots, and the strong sense of brotherhood between the Kazakh and Kyrgyz peoples. Such cultural ties mutually enrich our nations,» said Kudaibergen Bazarbayev, Kyrgyz Ambassador to Kazakhstan.
«We hold these Cinema Days annually. For example, last time we presented Beiyish Enenin Tamanynda (Heaven Is Beneath Mothers’ Feet), a film shot in several countries, including Kazakhstan. The second part was also filmed in multiple countries, including Kazakhstan—specifically in Taraz, in the Zhambyl Region. All of this brings our peoples closer together, and the official premiere will also take place in Kazakhstan,» said Ernist Abdirashitov, Third Secretary at the Kyrgyz Embassy in Kazakhstan.
