Today, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Russian President
Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation, discussing the development of
bilateral cooperation and noting that 2025 had been both eventful and
productive. Among the key outcomes was the achievement of a comprehensive
strategic partnership and alliance, marking an important milestone in the
development of relations between Kazakhstan and Russia. Tokayev welcomed the
emerging progress in the negotiation process on the Ukrainian settlement and
emphasized the importance of continuing political and diplomatic efforts. He
also expressed condemnation of the attempted attack on the state residence of
the Russian President. In conclusion, the two leaders exchanged New Year
greetings and wished the peoples of both countries well-being and prosperity.
