International observers: Voting process complies with law

International observers highly praised the conduct of the referendum on Kazakhstan’s new Constitution. They highlighted the high level of organizational and technical preparation, which ensured smooth voting conditions for citizens, especially in the regions. Experts noted the implementation of new technological solutions and extensive public awareness efforts about the innovations in the draft Constitution. Observers also noted the active participation of citizens in the voting process.

«Our international mission is observing the referendum voting not only in Astana, but also simultaneously in Almaty and Turkistan. Across these three regions, we have already visited around 43 polling stations. We have seen no violations of international standards or of domestic electoral procedures in line with Kazakh law,» said TURKPA Secretary General Ramil Hasan.

«I noted that procedures were followed in all transparency and people were able to express their will and cast their votes without interference and any incident. They were very enthusiastic and happy to exercise their right to vote. I think this reflects the seriousness of the Kazakh populations and their desire to move forward with this,» said Mutaz Alhiasat, Expert in the New Challenges and Threats Dimension of CICA
