Representatives of the National Coalition «For the People’s Constitution of a Just and Progressive Kazakhstan» met with residents of the Zhambyl region. Addressing the public, Chairman of the Mazhilis Yerlan Koshanov noted that everyone can find answers to issues important to them in the draft of the new Constitution, as the document is based on the principle that the state exists for the people, not the people for the state. During the meeting, coalition members outlined the key innovations contained in the draft new Basic Law.
«The referendum will underscore the unity and integrity
of our nation. It shows that the President relies on the people, and that the
people trust the President. History offers many examples of referendums that
have played a decisive role in a country’s development. The constitutional
referendum in Switzerland in the 19th century and France’s referendum
establishing the Fifth Republic have become part of world history. I believe
our upcoming referendum will also become a milestone, written in golden letters in our country’s history. Therefore, the choice and the final decision rest
with you,» Koshanov said.
